The 730 hectare (1,800 acre) grounds of San Diego Zoo Safari Park are home to over 2,600 animals representing more than 300 species. The zoo hosts a wide array of endangered and rare animals from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America, and Australia in more natural exhibits than a traditional zoo. There are a number of safaris, though some carry additional costs. The African tram safari, included in the admission fee, takes you around the park’s expansive African landscapes to spot free-range rhinoceroses, buffalo, giraffes, and more. Don’t miss the lemur walk, where you can see Madagascar’s most famous critter up close. Other exhibits include the gorilla forest, world gardens, and condor ridge. The park is beautiful! Great exercise; a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes that feel good all day on concrete. The park was very clean and I love that the animals have space to move around. The staff were all informative and friendly and readily available for questions and directions throughout the park. They did a wonderful job of expressing their commitment to conservation and telling how everyone can help and it makes the cost of admission an easier pill to swallow knowing that it goes towards their effort not just in Escondido but all over the world. We will go back for more visits.
I cant find the right words. It is amazing take the twilight safari tour. Will be hands down the best experience you'll ever have. Get up close and maybe feed a rhino also a giraffe. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring. This place is ADA friendly. The have carts for tours that are accessible bye wheelchair. They go above and beyond to make your experience a great one. You will want to plan 2 days here if you plan on seeing it all. I do suggest doing there extra tours way worth the price. Plus all those extras you buy, that money goes to feed and care for the animals. And they make sure to thank you for it. Very great place stop in and have the best day or days you could imagine.
