  • I wish I knew a 4x4 is required prior to making the trip our from LA. the drive into Eureka dunes is not bad, but once the pavement ends and it becomes a dirt road with the bigger rocks its super...  more »
  • Simply awesome. We went just before sunset and returned at dusk, but many people stayed until after dark. It is possible to do it all barefoot - really is all sand. Avoid mid day heat and windy...  more »
  • The dunes are absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen anything like this or been so secluded. The dunes are not really close to anything, but are 100% worth driving to. When I was there there were no other people and occasionally a fighter jet would fly over. The eureka dunes are unforgettable.
