Chittenango Falls State Park is a 193-acre (0.78 km2) state park located in Madison County, New York, east of Cazenovia Lake. The park features a 167-foot (51 m) waterfall that cascades over roughly 400-million-year-old bedrock. At the bottom of the falls the meandering Chittenango Creek flows underneath a wooden bridge. The park offers a variety of activities including picnic tables with pavilions, a playground, a nature trail, hiking, and fishing.

Approximately 45,000 visitors come to the park each year to engage in a variety of outdoor recreational activities. Although many camping guides still mistakenly list it as a campground, the park's campground was closed in the mid-2000s.

Chittenango Falls State Park is also home to the endemic and endangered Chittenango ovate amber snail (Novisuccinea chittenangoensis).

  • This is another amazing falls in the state of New York. The area is kept up well and the hike to the bridge is not that bad. The view from the bridge is wow!! Another one done on our bucket list  more »
  • This was a very nice hike with beautiful views of the falls. The hike was not too difficult, but the stairs can be slippery after a lot of rain/snow so be prepared for that. The trails were beautiful....  more »
  • A spectacular waterfall not too far from Syracuse. The parking lot can fill up pretty quickly so it's best to arrive earlier in the day. The hike down to the bridge is short, but can be steep and wet in places so be sure to wear proper footwear. Definitely a great place to bring the family for a nice outing or for a picnic (shelter rentals available). Hours from sunrise to sunset.
  • We had a relaxing walk around the perimeter. Fences don't let you get too close which is a good thing because the drop offs are very high. Great views and the hike is relatively easy. Would recommend to anyone passing through. Great place to go to get out and take in some fresh air.
