  • My husband and I visited Ponytail Falls and Horsetail Falls the day after we visited the more famous Multnomah Falls. Multnomah was so crowded that we vowed to get going earlier the next morning...  more »
  • The hike up to ponytail falls is worth the trip. It can be a bit steep at times and there are some wet spots one would expect, so be aware. You can walk behind falls for some pretty nice photos. Met.....  more »
  • Only kid friendly for grade school level and above. Narrow rocky trail with steep drop offs. If children are responsible type who listen when you explain the dangers, it is good hike. Pretty steep. But trail stops just past upper Horse Tail Falls. Cannot reach Ponytail Falls at this time.
  • From Horsetail Falls, there is a trailhead to Upper Falls (Ponytail). It's just half a mile of slightly steep switchbacks until it opens to a waterfall you can walk behind. The trail is closed beyond this due to landslides. It's a lovely, short, & sweet hike.
