Beautiful park with nice walking trails. We saw pelicans and otters while there and they have picnic areas. The cost is reasonable and it includes two other parks if you go the same day. Nice and... more »

A beautiful nature park, less than 1 hour drive from New York City. A lot of short and moderate hiking options. A good destination for a weekend hike trip or a day trip. Pine Meadow Lake is a very nice spot, not sure if swimming is permitted but saw a lot of people swimming so it must be permitted. It is not the case for other lakes in the park. Can be crowded during the weekend in the summer.
It is a beautiful park, full of fun. It is excellent for hiking and enjoying nature. The park is well known for its 31 lakes, multiple streams, public camp area and excellent views. The park's hiking trails are currently maintained by volunteers from the New York Trail Conference and are very well maintained. In addition to hiking trails, there are a number of horse riding routes in the southeast part of the park and a mountain bike route in the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area in the northeast of the park. In winter, some of the trails are open for cross-country skiing.
