Frying Pan Anglers Reviews
We've been fly fishing multiple times. This was the only bad experience we've had. Harry was more focused on showing us what he knew then letting us have some fun and practicing. We spent the first... more »

Friendly, low-key local shop. Proprietor wants to make sure that you walk out satisfied. I went in with a dumb question about leaders and he spent about 20 minutes with me remediating my pathetic (lack of) knowledge. Didn't seem to have a care in the world, despite all the high-end Patagonia and Orvis stuff in there, my little $5 purchase seemed just as important to him as anything. As you can gather from reading this, I don't spend a lot of time on the river, so more experienced anglers might find something wrong with this place, but I was treated like gold there. there is another well-known shop down the street, and I got a little bit of the old Avis "we try harder" vibe here.
Dave French at Fryingpan anglers was our guide. He was on time every morning prepared and ready to go. We floated the Colorado and waded the frying pan he had an extensive knowledge of both rivers; where the fish were and what they were eating. The guy flat knows his stuff, plus he’s quick with a joke. If you want to land the fish of a lifetime in one of the most beautiful spots in America at a fraction of what it costs at the other places, Dave and Fryingpan anglers is where it’s at. I just hope he doesn’t get too popular because I’ll be going back for sure and I wouldn’t go with anyone else.
