  • it's a viewpoint on the scenic drive, you can see some dark yellow color on the hills, quite different from other Badlands view. But it's not so beautiful, the yellow in the Yellow Mounds overlook is....  more »
  • The Conata Basin Overlook can be viewed by walking to the end of a straight boardwalk. The boardwalk is about 500 feet long. It is was worth a 10 minute stop.  more »
  • Oh my goodness. So, it's spring time, the Bison were everywhere as soon as we entered the Badlands. Then I noticed that everywhere I looked, there were adorable little Prairie dogs, doing their mating prayers, or whatever they were doing, shaking their adorable little butts in the air. The hills, the grass flats, the animals, there are mountain goats too. It's amazing out there.
  • Pretty amazing overlook...personally one of the best ones in the park as far as scenery, it was much greener this year with the heavier than normal rainfall. There are numerous little scrambling trails off of this that you can wander and experience the badlands a little closer!
