Badlands Wall, Badlands National Park

#1 of 16 in Parks in Badlands National Park
Geologic Formation · Nature / Park
Stretching along some 100 km (60 mi) of dry plains, Badlands Wall poses as a natural rock barrier that's been eroding for tens of millions of years. Losing 2.5 cm (1 in) on average per year, the dramatic landscape is a constantly changing sight with sedimentary rock layers reflecting hues of orange, pink, red, yellow and gold. Hundreds of fossilized bones can be found throughout the wall and wildlife roams freely, among which are bison, pronghorn antelope and bighorn sheep. Depending on the time of the day, and the weather, you can expect to see different colors, shapes, and features of the wall. Use Inspirock's suggestions to plan your Badlands National Park trip and find the best activities and attractions for your vacation.
