With more than 100,000 creatures from 500 different species, Georgia Aquarium has more aquatic life than any other aquarium in the world. Stop at the entrance to note the times of the daily bottlenose dolphin shows, or arrange to swim with the whale sharks--the largest fish in the world. The aquarium features six galleries, each designed to represent a specific environment. You can visit touch tanks filled with sea stars, stingrays, shrimp, horseshoe crabs, and sea turtles. In the regional habitat exhibits, you can walk through a tunnel surrounded by water to observe fish from an underwater perspective. Consider a guided tour of the backstage area to learn the secrets behind the aquarium's popular exhibits. • The aquarium is great. Our kids had a blast. I had a blast. The whale sharks are amazing and majestic. The manta rays are enormous and beautiful. There are a lot of exhibits. I would definitely recommend being 30-40 minutes early to the dolphin show or you won't get a seat. We barely missed getting seats.
  • This was worth a visit and the cost. I have seen a few shows and movies that were filmed at this aquarium and it was SO cool to be able to see the whale shark exhibit so close in person. It was a beautiful experience and there is nothing quite like it. Their research also speaks to their progressive efforts of sustainability and conservation. I love learning about their rehabilitation of animals in general. Definitely will be going back.
