Georgia Museum of Art, Athens

The museum changes quite frequently since they have entire areas dedicated to traveling exhibits. I was shown around by a friend who goes to the college and I thoroughly enjoyed most of the art available. My only complaint is that one employee was particularly rude to my friend. My friend had a completely sealed bottle of water and she wanted her to go all the way downstairs and get a locker. We ended up just putting it on a table outside of the exhibit room

For several years now, I've attended the "morning mindfulness" program offered at the museum -- one of many free activities open to the community. There are also films and special programs in the auditorium, Family Day activities, an interesting gift shop, and more. Not to mention the wonderfully varied exhibitions, both traveling and from the museum's permanent collection, which change throughout the year. We are so fortunate to have the state museum of art here in Athens!
