  • The Goonies house is definitely open for visiting and viewing from outside the fenced yard. The opportunity to stroll up the long driveway is open for those who would like to walk up, see the house.....  more »
  • There seems to be some kind of disagreement between the neighbors. Two mailboxes now have signs that say "Yes! Walk up!" and another sign says "no cars," which is totally understandable. I had no...  more »

  • It sucks that you're not able to walk up to the house anymore due to the fact that fans of the movie littering and making a nuance of the location. I guess you can physically do it, but the owner has removed the "goonies on foot welcome" sign and replaced it with a "dead end" sign. The city has put up "no parking" signs and the owner has publicly stated that she's not happy with some previous guests. We tried to be respectful and not walk up her driveway. We did take pictures from afar though.
  • First of all, before 2015 about 10 people a week visited the Goonies house. After it went to about 2000 a day in the summer. Guess what? The owner bought that house, as did almost everyone else that lives on this street, years before 2015. How then should they "have known" what they were getting into? Secondly, it's not a tourist attraction. It's a small house on a small single lane road that was never meant to be visited by 1000's of people daily. The people that live up there pay $1000's a year to get the road fixed because by some cruel twist of fate it's a public road but not maintained by the city. People up the road the other way have the same problem as there is no where to turn around and so the tourists use their gravel driveways. Don't be a jerk. Don't visit the Goonies house.
