  • I know all about Apache Junction, AZ. We had a home their in the Foot Hills of Superstition Mountain for 22 years, it was Our Winter Home. Arizona Opry is a good place to go, the Barleens are a...  more »
  • We actually had pulled in here to look at a map, and found this very interesting place! The museum is interesting and really gives you a feel of what it was like looking for the Lost Dutchman...  more »
  • This is a new and growing museum but you should definitely come here and throw money at them to support their work. They are trying to raise money so they can do a lot more interesting demonstrations. It's worth the long drive out here. The stamp machine demo was super cool, you will definitely want to see that if you can, it's a very unique opportunity. The museum itself is very small, about 30-60 min to see, tops, but it has a little on a lot of different areas. The gift shop is pretty cool, lots of interesting books. The volunteers have a lot of enthusiasm and can answer questions.
  • If you are in Scottsdale and are looking for a nearby place to visit, this place is worthy of consideration. There is a nice gift shop you can get into for free. Insider there is a nice museum that you can visit for a fee (I believe $5 per adult). The folks there were very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. There is some phony stuff to take pictures at (fake jail, stagecoach, Boot Hill Cemetery, etc.). There is also a church that was in the Elvis Presley film Charro. This is not the original church. The town where the church was burned down year ago. They say the church was moved here, but may have been rebuilt. There is a large figure of Elvis on the altar where you can take pics. An interesting place to check out, but if pressed for time, you won't miss much.
