Take in panoramic views from the top of Clifford's Tower, the remains of York Castle built by William the Conqueror. View the model of how the castle used to look, and learn about how it once functioned as a prison, a royal mint, as well as the place where Henry VIII put the bodies of his enemies on public display. Clifford's Tower Reviews
Took the plunge and decided to climb it, only to lose my knees at the top. I’m not a huge fan of heights so froze up quite a bit whilst I was up there, but whether you’re looking in, or out it’s gorge... more »
I recently visited the tower for the first time in August. York's Clifford's Tower has great history and is well worth a visit whilst in York. It also has great views from the top. more »
Nice old structure. Very well preserved. It has an interesting story line when you go inside the tower. Mind that it's not free and would cost you 10 quid.. you can spend 30min to 45min here and get some good photos if the sun shines..
Great place for kids and adults alike. Rather expensive to get in for what it is admittedly but I love the place and so does my son. From the tower the view of the city is incredible and it oozes history. Props for photos and sometimes a little game await you in the tower itself aswell as a small gift shop which you can get a nice hot drink.
