  • This was part of Devonport leat, but more importantly the views are of Foxtor mire chosen by Conan Doyle as the setting for the Holmes story The Hound of the Baskerville's. Just 2 miles from Princetown and very isolated. There was a story that a German plane was damaged and tried to land in the middle of the nice flat valley bottom. The bog completely swallowed it, never to be seen again.
