In January 2016, Wrexham County Borough Council in association with the Aqueduct Community Association and other local community groups, commissioned local artists to produce a series of artworks for the Pontcysyllte World Heritage Site.Put Pontcysyllte Aqueduct at the forefront of your travel plans using our Wrexham holiday builder .
There were two locations for the artwork. The first location was a series boarded up windows of a disused building on the main coach, minibus and car park off Station Road in Trevor, Wrexham, opposite the Telford Inn.
The second location was the Froncysyllte Community Centre.
The principal aims and objectives were:
To engage local community members, community groups and schools in supporting the design and determining the content of the artwork.
To complement the signage and interpretation strategy work currently being undertaken.
To create a point of interest for visitors to the World Heritage Site - creative, interactive and visually stimulating (based on the themes of industry, transport, people, place, world heritage and landscape).
To be visually appropriate and relevant to the selected site.
To raise the profile of the World Heritage Site and all communities/attractions within it, including, for example, Horseshoe Falls and the Chain Bridge.

Had a fantastic day out. The photo cannot capture the real sense of awe you feel when walking over the aqueduct. The walks in the woods nearby are also great exercise and you feel so exhilarated being in the country if the city is your home.
Fantastic bit of engineering and still being used over 200 years later. Great sight & at one end there is free parking and free clean modern toilets. Pleasant walk for viewing below.
