Worthing Pier, Worthing

#1 of 50 in Things to do in Worthing
Pier / Boardwalk · Tourist Spot
For casual sunset strolls and relaxing ambience, visit Worthing Pier. This 19th-century pleasure pier spans a length of 291m (960 ft) and stretches 11 m (36 ft) wide. Fishing on the pier is free, just look for the colored discs signifying where fishing is permitted. Located on the promenade is the regal Pavilion Theatre, an early 20th-century example of theatrical architecture. For amazing sea views while you eat, take in a meal at The Denton Cafe next to the theater. Halfway along the pier stands an amusement arcade, a throwback to the penny arcades of the 1930s. • Well, what a lovely pier, well kept and it really spoke of the past victorian and through to now obsession with cruise and coast. Clean and tidy all ways round with far reaching sea views a very nice....  more »
  • Beautiful art deco "tea room". Location is absolutely stunning and the original vintage fixtures and fittings are gorgeous. Fact the music playing was right for the era made it very atmospheric. Tea/coffee & cake delicious. Why on earth aren't there a lot more people here?? Would be a fabulous wedding venue. Just wish I had a ton of money to bring it back to its former glory - the building really deserves it.
  • Classic British pier, not a lot to do on it, and looks extremely dodgy and corroded underneath, but quintessential nevertheless. The nice looking bar at the end was closed - during the summer holiday season?! Marked down because of low guardrails and gaps an adventurous toddler would fall through, and an odd entrance approach whereby entry is round the sides!
