Trip Planner: Europe / UK / England / Buckinghamshire / Aylesbury Vale / Aylesbury / Waddesdon / Waddesdon Manor
You'll feel like you've stepped inside a French château surrounded by formal English gardens during your visit to Waddesdon Manor. As you stroll past classical statues and fountains in the formal outdoor gardens, listen to the chirping of colorful birds living in the historic aviary. Decorative pieces, gilded art, furniture, and masterpieces adorn the opulent interior of this Victorian manor. Pieces to look for include a writing desk commissioned for Marie Antoinette, the "Garden of Love" by Rubens, and "The Pink Boy" by Gainsborough. Prepare for crowds, especially during warm summer days and Christmas time. To save time, visit the website to purchase advance tickets. You can also download a free garden map to print or save to your smartphone. Children are welcome to play at the woodland playground and enjoy special children's activities. You can shop in the wine cellars and boutiques, and dine or have tea at one of the on-site restaurants. From January to March, the house is closed but the gardens are open on the weekends. Free to national trust members, including parking and shuttle bus. Various places for refreshment. Beautiful grounds and house. Limited toilet facilities on this occasion due to water supply issues but still a lovely place to spend the day and excellent bag check / information point. Was very impresses with the woodland play area and play equipment to loan.
Great family 👪 day out, with beautiful gardens and play area for the kids along with beautiful relaxing locations for the adults. Some really nice restaurants and cafes to grab a coffee and sandwiches. The Manor is awesome. Beautiful pictures on display along with many wonderful designs and furniture. A must place to visit.
