For an intimate visit with diverse coastal animals like penguins and seals, visit Living Coasts zoo, aquarium, and aviary. This small wildlife conservatory features several animal enclosures and habitats, including an artificial tidal estuary, penguin beach, tropical mangrove swamp, and several aquariums with viewing areas. Discover the secrets of the mysterious mangroves in the giant aquarium that contains more than 20 species. The netting surrounding the entire zoo is part of the open-air aviary that is home to South American fur seals, African penguins, sea ducks, pied avocet, black necked stilts, redshanks, and puffins. Living Coasts Reviews
Visited with our young family (7 and 3) for a day in between Christmas and New Year. Lovely location on the front with some amazing well kept animals and birds. Always seems to be something going on..... more »
Visited today with my husband and in laws. We've been several times and always love seeing the penguin feed as a highlight of the day but also enjoyed the otter feed talk, seals, rays, wading birds... more »
What a lovely gem of a find. We visited the zoo the day before and got saver tickets, which made entry very cheap for the four of us. The animal habitats were well thought out and accessible to all of us. The penguins and otters were adorable. The gift shop was well laid out, not full of tat, and well priced. The cafe was extraordinary. Great views, great food and lovely staff all round.
Beautiful place either for couples or families. Great facilities (benches, shops, cafe and toilets). Living coasts has really thought out the design of the place and it was lovely to see the penguins being able to run about instead of being in an enclosure so was happy about that. Would highly recommend, but would advice to take your time going around or maybe go back to certain parts that you enjoyed to make the most of it.
