#38 of 78 in Shopping in Cotswolds
Alain Rouveure Galleries are in an idyllic rural setting at the heart of the Cotswolds, 3 miles north of the picturesque small market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, one mile west of the village of Todenham just off the A429, the old roman Fosseway from Cirencester to Leicester.

Ten miles from famous Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden and some of the world's most visited gardens of Hidcote and Kiftsgate,

the Galleries are only 15 minutes from Shakespeare's Stratford, 30 minutes north of Oxford, 45 minutes from Birmingham and

just 1.5 hours from London. A treasure trove, they house a wealth of ideas for unusual presents and treasures for discerning collectors from the magical kingdoms of Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan at prices from £1 to £10,000.

Since he started more than 30 years ago Alain Rouveure has been able to help and make a difference to many projects and people, especially children in Nepal. He is personally involved with the health and education of one little boy and of two small girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, but as he always acknowledges, this help could never be given without the support, sales from the galleries and some donations from friends and clients.

The Alain Rouveure Nepal Relief Fund has been specifically set up to accept contributions from well wishers and supporters also wanting to make a difference. During his twice yearly visits to Nepal Alain monitors the different projects and makes sure that 100% of the donations received are spent directly where they count, without one single penny spent on "admin".

  • Great little find. Easy to shoot past the turning, but lovely coffee shop, super gallery with genuine Nepalese jewellery & crafts. Lovely garden & idyllic setting.
