#4 of 6 in Beaches in Cumbria
Beach · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Boasting clean sand and shingle, Seascale Beach allows plenty of space for walking, swimming, picnicking, beach combing, and other seaside activities. Located near the attractive village of the same name that retains its old Victorian charm, the beach makes a good starting point for inland walks. A restored wooden jetty remains quite popular with sea anglers and water sports enthusiasts. On clear day, the views over the Irish Sea extend as far as the hills of Galloway and the Isle of Man. Nearby attractions include two stone circles that bear evidence of Norse and Roman settlements.
