Scourie Bay, Scourie

#11 of 17 in Beaches in Caithness and Sutherland
Beach · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Bask in the isolated atmosphere of Scourie Bay, with just the sound of a crisp gust rustling the grassy bay. You won't be able to do much swimming as the water is usually too cold--unless you visit during the hottest days of the summer--but you can just enjoy the views, explore the nearby rock pools, admire the sunset, and spot the native wildlife scurrying about. There's a small town nearby with a general store if you need to pick up any snacks or refreshments. Our Scourie trip planner makes visiting Scourie Bay and other Scourie attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • View is fantastic but shop's/cafe is limited.
  • Lovely quiet campsite overlooking bay. Reasonably priced, clean facilities and coin operated washers and dryers. Couldn't fault it.
