  • Well worth spending at least a day here. If this is your sort of thing you’ll find the gardens and house are full of interest and pleasure. You will also find the staff are splendid; well Informed and providing entertaining insights into the construction and history of the building and it’s occupants. We did a general tour followed by some free wandering and a spot of lunch, finishing with an “unfinished works” tour in the afternoon. All fascinating and enjoyable.
  • Fantastic building. I would recommend visiting while you're on Bute. Well worth paying for the guided tour, as you'll see parts of the building you don't see by yourself. The tour guide we had was very passionate about her job. And how she remembered all that history is amazing. Didn't have time to do the fantastic grounds, so we'll have to make another visit. Soon.
