  • This is a sacred site right off the side of the road. Lovingly preserved by a local charity, place some coin in the donation box and then step back into time. It is so peaceful and quiet. You can walk...  more »
  • Forget about Stonehenge... You can walk amongst and touch these 3500-1500 BC structures. Well documented and no one else was there to bother us. We were on the Cotswold Tuk Tuk tour and were driven he...  more »

  • Such a beautiful place that makes you feel a thousand things at once. The visitors often leave trinkets and there isn't a single item of rubbish to be seen. There is some very limited parking just outside. The main circle is very easily accessible for even those with limited mobility, Including those who use most wheelchairs. The ground is flat but may be muddy in winter. The whispering nights are just as easily accessible, however wheelchair users may struggle to get to the king's stone across the road. Upon entry, it is requested that you donate some money for the upkeep of the stones, though upon visiting I have seen that most people do not. The stones are nestled within the folds of the Cotswolds and surrounded by natural beauty. It is my favourite place and I highly recommend it to everyone.
  • The King's Men Stone Circle are impossible to count ; four of us counted them several times, none of us had the same answer twice or indeed the same answers. Over the road and a few minutes walk are to be found The King Stone and 400yards East of this is The Whispering Knights. Both these are surrounded by railings. Myth surrounds the three sites about a witch that changed them all into stone and herself into an eldern tree. Popular with Pagans and Occultists. Has a very spiritual atmosphere. And sculptured wicker figures are an apt addition. Although, to my mind the stones do not need them. Noticeboard information is good. Not suitable for wheelchair users. Wear wellies. Admittance is £1
