National Museum of the Royal Navy Reviews
An interesting museum giving lots of information about the Royal Navy over the years. Items to read and look at, pictures, letters, stories etc more »
A good museum and well presented but I was expecting something more from of the most Navies in the world with a long history. Still worth a visit, especially the part on Nelson more »
We arrived on a sunny day with a slight breeze so that was good. We bought our tickets online for £31 each. You can park just around the corner for £7 , there's a co-op there so it's worth getting a few drinks and sandwiches if you want. After having our bags checked we went to the submarine museum across the water using the water bus which is included in the price -great!. We then did the various museums, toured Victory -great, had ice-cream (£2 for cone is fair) We also saw the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier- not part of the museum yet though! After a break we then walked around Warrior , great , we really enjoyed it . We'd recommend it 👍
This is a lovely museum. If you have a full navy ticket, it is definitely worth a visit. The Nelson exhibition is very impressive and has a lot of interactive elements. The main exhibition area has a surface computer which is a huge touch screen with almost limitless amounts of information. This was the most impressive part of the museum I feel. The Jolly Roger exhibition was also a lot of fun. The only disappointment was that so many of the interactive parts like the buttons under displays and the touch screen displays don’t seem to work - considering the price we pay to get in, you’d think they’d have a look at that! Otherwise, an enjoyable visit for about an hour or so.
