Journey between worlds at Ulster American Folk Park, an open-air museum designed to explore the historical link between Ulster and America. The museum sheds a light on the experiences of nearly 2 million immigrants who sailed from Ulster to America between 1700 and 1900. The site is divided into two sections (Old and New World) and uses volunteers dressed in period costume to demonstrate techniques and skills used by immigrants on a daily basis, including cooking, embroidery, spinning, printing, and bread making. The park also contains the renowned Center for Migration Studies, which houses a library of over 10,000 books, maps, photographs, and periodicals. Check online for a detailed list of the museum’s upcoming festivals and exhibitions. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Omagh holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Ulster American Folk Park and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

I love this place. Nice to have a walk round. We bought the annual pass which is very cheap. The journey through to America is really cool. Young kids loved the ship. Staff were friendly. more »

Lovely visit around the Folk Park. It's got a number of traditional dwellings for an insight into past living. Set in some nice grounds. Best part was the interactive nature of some of the characters. Blacksmith / seamstress etc. They would happily talk while in character and give a fascinating view of days gone by. Thoroughly enjoyable family day out.

The staff was very helpful and went well beyond my expectations. They provided multiple in house resources to look through and provided online resource links. I wish we had budgeted more time to research.
