What a fantastic family day out! Great value for money. Set aside several hours for the full tour. The staff are friendly and fully invested in the experience. The exhibition and experience are an immersion into the mining life. The cafe is great. It has an excellent variety of vegetarian and vegan foods. Try the High Tea!
Had a great afternoon out at this museum. Found it really interesting as both my grandfather's were miners. We did the guided tour. The guide was an ex-miner and was well informed. They have a lovely cafe where we had some lunch which was tasty and reasonably priced. They have 2 floors of museum to walk round and a nice wee shop as well. Plenty of parking too.
