Lovely castle and a must see for any tourist trip to Newcastle. Narrow walkways and stairs inside so be prepared for that. Views from the top are some of the best you'll get of the city, with sights all the way up to St James and brilliant views of the Tyne and Millennium bridge. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a nice day.
Just had a walk around as I arrived quite late and it was already closed. However, it has enough information panels outside to give you a good idea about the castle's history. It's enough of an interesting building on the outside and the area around, especially leading down to the Tyne, is full of mystery.
