Park · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Welford Park is a country house and estate in the village of Welford in the English county of Berkshire, situated 5.2 miles northwest of Newbury and 10.9 miles south of Wantage. It is a Grade I-listed building.
The church of Welford St Gregory, one of only two existing round-tower churches in Berkshire, is located adjacent to the house. The various chalk streams that make up the River Lambourn flow through the grounds.

The estate opens its grounds to the public every year for about four weeks to enable visitors to see the carpets of snowdrops that line the riverbanks and flow through the nearby woods.

  • Great experience for snowdrops, best to visit by mid February for best displays? All depends on weather earlier in winter.  more »
  • Lovely walk around the garden. Nice sausage bap in the tent. Easy walking despite the amount of rain we have had.  more »

  • It was an amazing walk through the woods in the perfect England climate. The brook was softly flowing across the side of the snow drops which bloomed quite like snow on the garden which was covered mostly by trees and the red wild plants which set a sweet contrast with the green pasture lands sprawling bright. Many elderly coupled walked through with the help of mobility scooters. The only thing I missed is my sweetheart's warm hand to hold.
  • We had nice walk here today. Not much flowers left but they close the park tomorrow. But it was still stunning. Will back next year! Cafe is brilliant Amazing scones and lovely ladies
