We visited this little museum on a bank holiday expecting it to be busy only to find we were the only ones there. The chap manning the reception was very friendly and the entrance price was perfectly.... more »

Although small, the museum manages to cover the history of the port and shipbuilding. Fascinating to a maritime buff. more »

Small very focused on history of Maryport. Friendly staff gave detailed account of "how it all began". Somehow the small size of the museum made it more intriguing. On two levels, very clean and modern inside. What also adds interest is that the docks highlighted in the museum are just over the bridge. Well worth a visit for adults and I would say older children, say 7 up.

Hugely interesting. Knowledgeable curator who gave us a potted history of Maryport. Well worth a visit and needs your support to remain open due to continual assessment by council.
