Swing Patrol, London

3.6
#86 of 96 in Classes in London
Address: Claremont Project, 24-27 White Lion Street, Islington, N1 9PD

Which class?

Class 1 is suitable for all, but I tend to push beyond what you would expect in a traditional 'level 1'. I'll be assuming attendants have anything from not a lot of experience, to 'I've been dancing for years and want to build my foundations' type experience. I'll spend more time in this class building knowledge and understanding.

Class 2 is usually dead hard. (which is a Liverpool expression for 'challenging') I'll be assuming attendants know some jazz/ lindy hop movement.

The classes always connect together, as lots of people like to do both!

  • A lovely teacher, with fab people. But the floor was terrible, not slippery at all. Everyone abandoned the proper Charleston foot moves as would have damaged joints and it was incredibly overcrowded, ...  more »
  • Who wants to dance swing, this is the right address for it. We were at a drop - in beginners class Tuesday evening in the candid Arts Trust directly behind the Angel tube station. The room is on the second floor and you must climb a steep flight of stairs, but then he is very large and has a pleasant vibrating wood floor, ideal for dancing. It was no problem, that we wanted to take part as tourists for a single hour. It doesn't even matter whether you come alone or already constantly change with partner, as the dance partner. Charlston was educated at the visited hour the basic step and three further dance figures. Pretty much fabric for an hour so, but that is conveyed with much enthusiasm, enthusiasm and charm, even if it may not quite work out, it has had lots of fun, and that's the point. One hour costs 10 pounds per person at the moment, after the beginner class two higher level took place on the same evening, for which then existed discount, if it occupies more than one evening. You must also not fluent in English, to take part because everything is also repeatedly demonstrated. I found really great about was how warm and welcome to heissend. Very big Kudos!
