  • We were on an organised walk visiting Hawksmoore churches. We had pre-arranged access to the interior. The restoration of the inside makes a usable space for worship and preserve the design of the 18t...  more »
  • This Anglican Church dates from the early nineteenth century and draws attention to its Neoclassical Bella Facade with six imposing front columns with Corinthian capitals, brings you memories of Hellenic or Roman culture, however contrasts with this architecture the bell tower and its watch, gives it its own style. Good place to admire and take pictures. Please note: Remember that the sense of vehicle traffic in the UK is inverse to what we are used to in America and Europe, to have THIS ELLO to avoid accidents when crossing the streets. Enjoy Lóndres because: LIFE... it's a TRAVEL!

  • St George’s Bloomsbury is one of the twelve new churches designed and paid for under the 1711 Act of Parliament for building Fifty New Churches, and the sixth and final London church designed by the leading architect of the English Baroque, Nicholas Hawksmoor. Restoration began in 2002 has been funded by the estate of Paul Mellon the American philanthropist, through the World Monuments Fund; the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Robert Wilson Challenge Fund and a host of smaller donors. It has made possible a new future for the church. The architect of the restoration was Colin Kerr with Inskip and Jenkins designing the North Gallery. This is a small but nevertheless attractive church located fairly close to the British Museum. When I visited it was closed and so it wasn't possible to go inside.
  • They do such a great hot chocolate here! Perfect after a night shift. Has the loveliest atmosphere and is genuinely my favourite place to get coffee! And they offer NHS discount!
