Learn about the heritage of the London Underground and other modes of city transit at London Transport Museum. Wander around the displays to discover what public transportation was like in the 19th century and see how it changed as suburbs grew outside the city. Check out the restored Metropolitan Railway Jubilee Carriage No. 353, a first-class city train carriage that dates back to 1892. Look at over 80 vehicles, such as buses, trams, and taxis, and view posters that the city transportation system designed and commissioned over a period of 100 years. For food or refreshments, stop by the on-site Upper Deck cafe and bar. • Great London Transport Museum covering everything from the river, horse and cart, bus, train and tube history in and around greater London. Good mix of things to do for all ages. Expensive tickets but if you pick up a leaflet at most main train stations you can get two for one offers. If not ask the friendly staff if they have any spares. Tickets are valid for a year and you can gift aid to help them too.
  • Visited during the Christmas period. A great place to visit with the kids. Very helpful and friendly staff. Loads of history to learn, not only for the kids but also adults. Neat and clean environment; all the floors well kept. Almost every 5 minutes one could see a couple of cleaners going around cleaning the floors. Toilets are clean in spite of so many visitors. They are well looked after! Nice cafe, though not enough seats. Kids would always enjoy eating here and mingling with other kids! Good location. Quite close to the underground. And with so many shops around, even after your visit window shopping continues.....😁
