  • This is a really nice pub, when you go into you can breath a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately they serve just Samuel Smith beers and ciders, they are not the best choice you can find in a pub.  more »

  • One of the best pubs in London, absolutely ruined by the present bar manager. I was a semi-regular here for 30 years until the present manager took over a few years ago. I was hoping he was passing through. Sadly, he is still there.. He's rude, obnoxious and argumentative. I had friends visiting from overseas who love the pub and visit it every time they are in the UK. Within minutes of ordering our beers, the bar manager started an argument with my friends and we had no option other than to leave. My friend's instantly twigged, "this place has changed.". Sam Smith's need to get a new bar manager. His attitude is wearing off on the staff who seem like they can't wait to get their shift over. He regularly closes the upstairs bar early at the weekends, which is the only part of the pub with decent seating; which forces people outside. There is no proper drinking area outside, just a pavement, and one has to drink out of plastic cups outside in Westminster (although nearly every other pub in the immediate area lets you take your glass outside.) The manager has a "like it or leave" attitude to customers. Scrolling down through the reviews, it seems I am not the only person who has an issue with the manager. Frankly, he is a liability.
  • Great selection of beers, decent prices. Rather large portions of food (fish and chips looked delicious, judging from what others got, and the portion is huge). Beers range from 3-6 pounds. Meat pie was good, classic comfort food. Interior very classic.
