See ancient artifacts at All Hallows By The Tower, one of the city's oldest churches. Founded in 675 by the Saxon Abbey at Barking, the structure contains the arch of the original Saxon church. Made with recycled Roman tiles, the 7th-century arch predates any other surviving piece of church material. Visit the crypt museum underneath the church, which features religious and historical artifacts, including an ancient Roman road. Walk through the church's cemetery, where several people beheaded at the Tower of London are buried, including Thomas More, Bishop John Fisher, and Archbishop Laud. Take a guided tour to learn more about the church's history, or download an audio tour before your visit. Make your London itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

A must see church if you love history. This wonderful building dates back to 675AD. Make sure you pop down and explore the crypt.

The staff are courteous, efficient and friendly. The full English breakfast I had was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The cafe situation. What can one say, at the back of the church in a quiet area next to an extremely busy road. No traffic fume smell and quiet. How did they manage that? Superb planning. Here is the best bit, a stone throw from The Tower and it it is not swamped by tourists. You Cockneys are lucky to have such a venue. Just keep it quiet.. Will I come again, definitely.
