Anglesey Abbey, Lode

Visit Anglesey Abbey for a fine example of British country living. Existing for almost 1,000 years and changing over time, the house is a fine example of grandeur. In 1600 CE, Thomas Parker converted the priory into a Jacobean-style house. The house remained in disrepair until 1926 when Lord Fairhaven fully restored the house and garden to what you see today. The dining room remains as one of the oldest surviving rooms in the house, dating back to 1236. Meticulously maintained gardens span 46 hectares (114 acres) and contain numerous plant species.
