  • What a fantastic place to visiting sit and explore. We had a fantastic time just to see the Laxey Wheel up close. There are 95 steps to the top and if you are able to well worth the climb up.  more »
  • Do read the information boards as you walk around this site, which includes a visit to the mine as well as climbing up above the wheel. Very interesting history of water power. Note, there aren’t any ...  more »
  • Interesting place to visit but expect a lot of walking around. You can climb to the top of the wheel for some brilliant views but it is via a single spiral staircase which winds around the tower so not for those who have a dislike of heights
  • A huge industrial landmark, the wheel towers over Lacey. A fifteen minute walk from the Electric Train station brings you to the wheel. Worth climbing to the top to really understand the size of it, the best views are from either side. It's worth a walk into the nearby mine, with hardhat provided. For UK National Trust members admission is free.
