Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Laugharne

Visited several times over several years. Laugharne is a strange and rather lovely place, worth a visit even if it didn't have the Dylan Thomas connections. If you like the poetry and the history behind it, going to this town will (if your experience mirrors mine) give a human sense to it, above the words on the page. I can see why someone who knew little if DT's work might not be excited. But for me, always exciting, always like paying a personal visit.

Tucked away, this is a pretty place, and you can almost feel time has stood still in this very spot. Lovely coastal walk and a cafe attached to his old boathouse home a bit further along from here. Mud flats mean no swimming/bathing but a lovely walk. There is also a ruined castle at the beginning of the route to get there. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
