  • No need to book and free entry. Limited parking albeit we walked from Pembroke in a gorgeous day. There were some areas that had been roped off due to COVID, but the ropes were down on our visit...  more »

  • Amazing complex. Much to see. No wonder Henry VIII wanted shot of these lavish parasites! Astonishing to find the Bishop's Palace has free entry (early Sept 2019)
  • Lovely quiet peaceful place - a typical "atmospheric ruin", seemed well- maintained/managed with a handful of interesting information boards dotted around and no entry charge (it is not staffed and has no "facilities"). Would be good, perhaps just in the summer season, to have the corner unit open with staff on location for further information, guide book purchase, maybe make visitor toilets available, etc. But understand that funding is probably the issue. Would have happily donated something towards upkeep etc. if the option had been available!
