Haystacks, or Hay Stacks, is a hill in England's Lake District, situated at the south-eastern end of the Buttermere Valley. Although not of any great elevation (597 m, 1,958 ft), Haystacks has become one of the most popular fells in the area. This fame is partly due to the writings of Alfred Wainwright, who espoused its attractions and chose it as the place where he wanted his ashes scattered. A great hike but go prepared!!! food, drinks, good clothing. The route is quite easy to follow without a map but do some research, the route involves some scrambling close to the top, but nothing overly dangerous.

Absolutely amazing place, jaw dropping views. Best days out I've ever had. You can park your car at Gatesgarth farm (about 50 spaces car park ) and it's only £4 per 24h. Ice cream van, Ice cold drinks and a lot of emotions.
