Jedburgh Castle Jail and Museum, Jedburgh

Free and worthwhile visit: The Gaol allows you to take a self-guided tour through two floors of cells as well as the castle. It's full of information and captured the attention of the three children we were with (8, 6 and 2). Unfortunately, there were some bits missing which we spotted whilst doing the children's quiz as previous visitors had apparently tried to steal them, although some have just been relocated to more secure places - ask the staff in the shop.

Nice clean and informative. I suspect that it may get rather crowded at busy peak periods due to the narrow corridors and small rooms. Nice to have the hand held audio commentry which is only a reasonable £1.00. That plus the free entry makes it a must see attraction when I'm Jedburgh.
