Traquair House & Brewery Reviews
This is a lovely house well worth a visit. Only one of the crafters was open which was disappointing but it was good. The grounds are fabulous. However the cafe was disappointing, staff a bit offhand ... more »
Although we didn't visit the house we enjoyed a lovely walk around the gardens and grounds of the house. Look out for the ancient yew trees, the walk along the river and the ponds. There is plenty to ... more »
To visit this place was really interesting, nice and friendly guides.. I would be happy to give 5 stars but The Chapel and the Brewery got closed at 4.45 pm when officially they work up to 5 pm but they seem to be very hurry to get home earlier. We went to shop to buy some beer and found that you can have 0.5 L bottles £3.30 each or a box of 3 bottles for £11. So I took the box as it was more convenient to and it was really disappointed for me to find at home that only the first bottle was 0.5 L, two others inside the box were only 0.33l. We call it cheating as the boxes were not described that way.
Had a fantastic day here with the kids. Lots to see and do with very friendly staff all about. The house itself is full of interesting items, pictures and history. The grounds are vert well looked after, have plenty of space to run around, a superb maze and a small adventure playground for the little ones. There are a few small artisan shops with different craft sales and the cafe has superb food and cakes that are not overpriced at all considering a captured audience. Great to see the brewery as well, especially being a real-ale fan!
