Hornchurch Country Park is a 104.5-hectare park on the former site of Hornchurch Airfield, south of Hornchurch in the London Borough of Havering, east London.

The River Ingrebourne passes through the park and if forms part of Thames Chase Community Forest. The most popular part of the park is to the west of the Ingrebourne, where the ground is flat and paved; this area is most commonly frequented by dog walkers. The woodland to the east of the river is somewhat inaccessible. Some southern parts of the park that reach into Rainham have been used as landfill.

There is a fishing lake located there, and there are many paths leading from the park to other nearby areas, including Upminster, Dagenham and Rainham.

There are a number of pillboxes and other items dating from the Second World War to be found in the park.
The park is a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade I. Almost all of it falls within the Ingrebourne Valley Local Nature Reserve, and the eastern edge is part of the Ingrebourne Marshes Site of Special Scientific Interest.
There is access from Airfield Way/Squadron's Approach, off South End Road.

  • What a wonderful place to enjoy a walk on your own, with friends or with your dog. Lots to see - lakes, children's play area, wooddd areas, cows, sheep, rivers, excellent pathways and a superb cafe...  more »
  • I love this place. Lots of different walks. Wildlife in abundance. Friendly people. Lots of dogs. The cafe staff are friendly and it good selection of food and drink. Toilets facilities very good. Inside and outside seating. Opens at 9am closes between 4 and 5pm. Wish it stayed open until 6 especially in the summer. Parking is free but can get busy. Only problems being is there are not allocated spaces so some drivers can be very selfish and some cyclists are very fast and not considerate of people or animals abilities to move out the way quickly.
  • Come rain or shine it's great to visit Hornchurch Country park. Full of History, great for families, dog walking (please clear up after your dogs) exercising, there is free equipment to use. Most importantly, lots of birds, wild life, flowers, tree's, lakes, beautiful centre offering food, drinks, gifts & always someone to answer any questions you may have. Absolutely love it here. We are so lucky to have it on our doorstep.
