Situated in the village where children’s author Roald Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years, the museum was created a home for his archive and to inspire a love of stories in its visitors. The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is aimed at 6 to 12 year olds and has lots of interactive activities to keep children entertained. Walk through the biographical galleries that tell the story of Dahl’s life and the experiences that shaped his writing. In the solo gallery, explore Dahl’s writing hut, complete with its original furnishings and the knickknacks that the author kept there for inspiration. This place is incredible. Definitely not for your teenager though. Pretty small, don't expect some theme park sized affair, it's basically a courtyard surrounded by loads of different rooms that walk you through Roald Dahls life. Very very interesting for adults and children. Plenty of interactive bits and bobs plus workshops for the kids, fantastic shop rammed full of all sorts of stuff that are hard not to buy. Only £7 for an adult ticket so a nice cheap day out for the summer holidays, plus it's valid for a whole year. Visited by mum, dad, grandma, and a seven year old.
I enjoyed this place very much. It is suitable for people of all ages. My Niece enjoyed the craft section The information on Roald Dahl was very good. I learnt quite a lot that I didn't know about him. The place was kept clean and the staff were very helpful. The cafe was a bit small , but food was very nice. Was disappointed that we could not have Afternoon Tea because the Kids were on Summer Holidays. I would recommend this place.
