Pollok Country Park, Glasgow

4.7
#3 of 29 in Parks in Glasgow
Escape from the city at Pollok Country Park, a 146-hectare (360-acre) expanse of well-manicured green space, previously named the Best Park in Europe. Stretch your legs on miles of trails, and choose a quiet picnic spot to forget about urban life. Before the building of a highway in 1994, the park was the largest urban green space in Europe. Visit shaggy Scottish Highland cattle, and view the eclectic antique and art collection of shipping magnate William Burrell. If you want to go faster than your own two feet can carry you, the park has also opened three mountain-biking routes. • Lovely country park. Lots to do and see. Highland cows graze in the fields, and I personally love these creatures. Easy to get to by train or bus if u have no transport. It also has the famous Burrell collection and gift shops & cafe. Plenty for kids and adults. Beautiful park
  • One of Glasgow's great green spaces. Pollock House is a compact Adam designed country house. It has the greatest small collection of Spanish art outside of Spain. Two beautiful William Blake etchings. Unfortunately at the moment the Burrel collection also in the park is closed for renovations.
