Glasgow Cathedral, Glasgow

4.5
The historically rich Glasgow Cathedral is an exceptional example of gothic architecture that has served as a place of worship for over 800 years. Explore where the patron saint of Glasgow, Saint Mungo, is believed to have built his church in the 6th century, and venture into the crypt where his tomb stands. As you walk through the aisles, marvel at one of the finest post-war collections of stained-glass windows to be found in Britain. Cathedral guides, identifiable by their blue robes, are happy to answer any of your questions or provide a tour. With an active congregation, the cathedral holds regular services you are welcome to join. • Free entry though donation requested. The place is gorgeous like all old churches with amazing windows. A big organ and lots of mini chapels inside of the church. There is good history and explanations within the church and their patron saints tomb. Definitely a must see in Glasgow
  • The young lady at the souvenir shop was incredibly helpful and could be a tour guide. Knowledgeable about the cathedral and area. Cathedral has history and personality.
