Auchentoshan distillery is a Single Malt whisky distillery in the west of Scotland. The name Auchentoshan is from Gaelic Achadh an t-Oisein and translates as "the field of the corner". The distillery is also known as "Glasgow's Malt Whisky" due to its close proximity to Glasgow and "the breakfast whisky" due to its sweet and delicate nature. Auchentoshan is located at the foot of the Kilpatrick hills on the outskirts of Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire near the Erskine Bridge. It is one of six malt whisky distilleries in the Scottish Lowlands along with Bladnoch, Glenkinchie and recently Daftmill Distillery, Annandale Distillery and Ailsa Bay Distillery.HistoryAuchentoshan was built in 1800. After its foundation, it changed hands multiple times, and was bought by Eadie Cairns in 1969, who rebuilt it completely. Cairns sold Auchentoshan to Morrison Bowmore distillers in 1984. Suntory invested in Morrison Bowmore in 1989. In 1994, they acquired 100% of its holdings. In May 2014, Beam Inc. and Suntory Holdings Limited merged to create Beam Suntory Inc, who are now the owners of Auchentoshan and other Morrison Bowmore holdings.Arrange to visit Auchentoshan Distillery and other attractions in Glasgow using our Glasgow trip itinerary site .

The distillery itself was neat and fun to watch.
Went for the tour. Had been to Bowmore before, so I was expecting about the same. Was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information our tour guide, Stevie, had for us. Great stories and humour with a dram at every stop. Lovely facilities and an attractive little gift shop. Well worth the trip!
Best guided tour of a Scottish distillery I ever saw and experienced since I’ve been in Scotland. Friendly, fair, knowledgeable and most welcoming staff and guide. Heart and soul is poured into this place and it makes it stand out. Really good visuals, tidy and clean and from a marketing perspective, they do it really well! Good quality merchandise and beyond good quality whisky! Get Brian as a tour guide. He is funny, super knowledgeable, alert, cares about what he does and you can hear and see his passion for whisky. Impressive, thank you. Will definitely recommend to all my friends. Quality and attention to detail goes a long way! #distilleddifferent #auchentoshan
