Pendennis Castle is one of the most impressive of the remaining Tudor forts, originally built by the dozens to protect King Henry VIII. Sitting atop a massive hill, the site showcases a panoramic view of the sea. An onsite gunroom, restored barracks, and castle tunnels give you a first-hand idea of life in military in the 1500s. On-site cafes offer coffee service, which you may enjoy in the manicured courtyards. Professional and self-guided tours lead you through acres of walking grounds. Be sure to check the local weather before leaving for the day. The area has a reputation for storms sweeping in from the sea. This could have been a brilliant day as they had a war exhibition and shows on,but unfortunately it was pouring down when we visited. We didn't stay for the loud gun show which I would have liked to have seen. We had a good time apart from the rain though.

A small but lovely little fort. A long walk there but it was a perfect day for it! The exhibitions were fantastic I just wished there had been more of them. It was great to look at the barracks and the small fort itself which is steeped in military history. Definitely worth checking out!
