ZSL Whipsnade Zoo stands as the UK's biggest zoo, covering 243 hectares (600 acres). You can see many of the more than 2,500 animals by walking or using the zoo's bus service. You can even drive your own car through the Passage Through Asia exhibit, where the animals roam freely. Check out cheetahs, Asian elephants, Amur tigers, African lions, and Nepalese rhinos in expansive habitats. See unusual wildlife, such as red pandas and pygmy hippos. Kids can interact with horses, cows, alpacas, and llamas in the children's farm. Daily events include zookeeper talks, feedings, and animal demonstrations, so check the schedule before you visit. The zoo has plenty of venues for food and drink. Book tickets online to avoid waiting in line at the entrance. • Amazing experience! loved all the animals especially the flamingos, tigers, lions, giraffes and the elephants! we did so much walking, took lots of photos and we had some food stores where we managed to have refreshments and ice creams etc. amazing day out.
  • I was very positively surprised. This is a great Zoo or more correctly, an animal park. I prefer Whipsnade over the London Zoo but the only downside is that you need a car. Once you manage to find your way to Whipsnade, you will discover a vast area with lots of animals. Each "region" is designed to reflect a continent. Not only animals but also vegetation and structure of the compound change. You get a real Australia, Africa and Europe vibe and there are some beautiful landscapes. However, sign-posting is an issue. One can easily get lost. While you have exhausted any animal in the London Zoo after a few hours, Whipsnade will take you a full day.
