Walk atop Derry's City Walls, the only completely intact ones in Ireland. They date back to the 17th century, and today give you an unobstructed perspective down onto the old town they contain. As you stroll along the 1.5-km (0.93-mi) promenade, stop to admire the four original gates and three more that the city added over the years. The Walls remain open from dawn until dusk and are free of charge. You can find plenty of seating if you need to pause during your walk. City Walls Reviews
An enjoyable short walk to do to. You can complete a walk all the way around which will take about 15 to 20 minutes (Derry is a small city) but there are plenty of interesting points to stop and there... more »

Wow. Honestly one of the most beautiful sights in Ireland and the UK so far? I think this is better than the Shard in London. Came here several evenings in a row just to walk and the city after sunset. Be aware that a gate at one section of the wall closes at 9:00pm/21:00 and you might have to loop around to get to the other side (or go straight through the middle).
Amazing completely intact ancient city walls complete with lots of original cannons. Get up on them & walk around the complete (just under) 1 mile circuit. Fascinating history & views across city.
