The Cathedral Church of All Saints Derby, better known as Derby Cathedral, is a cathedral church in the city of Derby, England. In 1927, it was promoted from parish church status, to a cathedral, creating a seat for the Bishop of Derby, which new see was created in that year. The original church of All Saints was founded in the mid-10th century as a royal collegiate church, dedicated to All Saints. The main body of the church as it stands today is a Georgian rebuilding by James Gibbs, completed in 1725. The tower dates from the 16th century, and a retroquire was added in the 20th century.Plan your Derby Cathedral visit and explore what else you can see and do in Derby using our Derby tour itinerary tool.

Derby Cathedral reviews
Nothing special after visiting Chichester recently. No traditional stained glass windows inside they are plain glass. There are two modern large patterned ones but very disappointing. more »
Basically it's just another church. Nothing more. Not one of the more impressive cathedrals I've visited. Mostly built in the 19th century. more »
It's a really peaceful place to be when it's quiet and a strange mix of peace, serenity and buzzing when it's busy. The building itself is awe inspiring and the inside adds to that further. What a fantastic landmark of Derby and definitely worth a visit even if you're not religious cos neither am I. Its great that this place is ran by dedicated volunteers.
There is a lovely ambience in the newly spacious cafe, coupled to the delicious fresh food and genuinely friendly & helpful staff whilst, maintaining the Christian value. That they are now open Sundays with their new traditional Sunday lunch Menu is a God-send to many of us as Sunday is the day when everyone is already busy with their families. You would happily eat Sunday lunch here on your own without being out-of-place, whereas one would feel uncomfortable and/or conspicuous eating Sunday lunch alone in a pub. Excellent! Thank you.
